Project Description

Bounce is my first use of Unreal engine. while its not the first I've attempted using UE4 as i tried when i was much younger. i decided to retry and actually create something.

This project was an optional project given by the university but did not count as part of my degree thus being in my own time. 

 

In this project, i wanted to make a puzzle game based on a unique game play mechanic. the mechanic being able to produce bounce pads on certain surfaces to traverse the map and solve the rooms puzzles.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

In this project, i learnt a new programming language, as well as UE4 Blueprints. i had also learned how to use Unreal engine more effectively. this had taught me the differences in engines and languages and noticed i could use similar techniques to what i'm used to with slight changes

Cons:

The issues i had with this project was since everything was new, i had a lot of difficulty in learning this new language. unfortunately there's not a lot of online material on C++ in UE4 i found. trial and error was my main approach for the most of it.
